Asus Zenbook Duo keyboard Function keys are not working properly

I have a fairly new Asus Zenbook Duo (purchased in November). I have it set as a dual boot Zorin Pro 18 and Windows 11 Pro. The keyboard works 100% correctly in Windows 11. I wish I could say the same for Zorin. The keyboard works attached to the laptop and also connected by Bluetooth. The only problem I have is my keyboard backlight, screen brightness, and volume control is controlled by the function keys. That’s my problem, none of those functions work when in Zorin. I could deal with the screen brightness and volume but I can’t deal with no keyboard backlight, I use my laptop often in the dark or in dim locations. I’ve been Googling this for a while now and haven’t found an answer. I would say my Linux experience level is slightly higher than beginner. Any help would be great, my end game here is to dump Windows but I can’t do that if I don’t have some of my luxuries!

Which Zenbook Duo do you have?
Maybe this site can help you if you have the model UX8406:

Welcome to the Forum!

  • Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
  • Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled?
  • Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

Yes, that's the model I have. I will check this out and report back. Thanks
