I recently installed Zorin OS 18 Core, but when I tried to use my JBL Tour One M2, it didn’t work as expected. Im using in bluetooth mode.
When I use the headset in the "Headset" mode, everything is fine — the sound works perfectly.
The issue happens when I switch to "Hands-Free" mode to use both audio and the microphone.
Welcome to the Forum!
And what Issue is this exactly when You use the ''Hands-Free'' Mode? Does Audio and Mic don't work or only one of them?
Both don't work.
The issue also occurs on Linux Mint.
I'm probably missing some configuration since I'm not an expert Linux user (That's why I decided to ask for help here. xD).
I already tried several solutions I found during my research, but none of them solved the issue.
From what I can tell, these are the cans the OP has.
Have you made sure, that these are properly paired in your bluetooth connections?
You can also confirm Bluetooth is on, in the system section, of the taskbar.
You may want to look at your system volumes in Pulse Audio Volume Control as well, make sure your sound is not muted.
Make sure your sound source is selected. For example, if your using your headset and not speakers, make sure you select your headset in the list of input/output devices.
I can confirm its properly paired because in the Headset option the sound works just fine.
When I switch to Handsfree, i can’t hear anything anymore
I also used alsamixer to check if something was muted in Handsfree, but that’s not the case.
You have there on the Configuration Option a Dropdown Menu. Did You tried there differents Settings/Profiles?
I don't have this device, but trying to help. From websearch using "JBL Tour One M2 mic not working Ubuntu 24.04" Found this:
When you did your Bluetooth config, did you select HFP audio profile for headset use?
Some having mic problems with Ubuntu 24.04 (base of Z18), they looked at wireplumber.
See: sound - Microphones don't work after 24.04 upgrade - Ask Ubuntu
I see you looked at alsamixer.
In there did you play with [Loopback-mode] settings?
Also have a play with [Auto-Mute] channel settings.
