BadValue error in GLX based apps since latest update

Two days ago, Zorin 16 asked for a Software Update, and as usual I agreed and let it update.

After the update no GLX apps are working anymore, anything I try to run from Lutris gives me this error:

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 152 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
  Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 489
Current serial number in output stream: 490

Same for any other GLX-based apps outside Lutris. Steam, for example, cannot be opened anymore.

I have tried rolling back the driver, but it didn't work. Regardless of what version I choose, it's not working.

Anybody have any experience with this issue?

LATER EDIT: Reverting to nvidia-driver-535 seems to have solved the issue.

Drivers that didn't work: nvidia-driver-545 (couldn't install it, got an error), nvidia-driver-550, nvidia-driver-555, nvidia-driver-560 (these 3 all returned the aforementioned GLX error whenever attempting to open a GLX app).

Welcome to the Forum!

What Update/Updates was/were this/these in Detail?

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't remember exactly. All I remember is that there was something related to nvidia as well in the list that showed up in the Software Update window.

I fixed it by rolling back to driver-535, newer drivers seem not to work.

From now on, I am making screenshots every time Zorin asks me to update something, so that it's clearer what causes issues. It's not the first time I have trouble after agreeing to an update.

Thanks!
