balenaEtcher problem usb

I do not recommend anyone to use "balenaEtcher", it has damaged more than 4 USB sticks. However, I have read in the Linux forum that balenaEtcher has also damaged his USB memory

I had the same problem, but turns out I managed to fix it using Disks. In the Disks utility, I removed the partition that contained the OS .iso and formatted correctly the USB stick.
It may work for you
