i m 55. Be in Linux since 20y ...working daily with Ubuntu and Red Hat, playing on my desktop pc under Fedora.( for now)
I have install Zorin OS on my personal laptop, ( Pangolin of 2023 from System 76 )for a try .
And then, the shock.
One of the biggest surprise i ever had on IT.
Zorin OS is so well thought and made. So ergonomic and full of intelligent little things that make the use so pleasant.
It s more than just a distro for beginners.
it s what an OS has to be. Simple, Clear, Stable and Efficient.
Absolutely. I've tried Linux for decades, and failed every time because, frankly, most distros deserve the infamous Linux reputation for impossible learning curves and abstruse policies. Zorin is the first one that has actually allowed me to use my computer rather than fighting with it. I don't care if Linux purists look down on an easy-to-use distro for the masses; it does what it says on the tin - it allowed me to escape from Microsoft's spyware, while still having enough Linux quirks to make the experience interesting. Fantastic job, devs.
Started with Zorin fours years ago on my four PCs because it was the first distro I'd seen that wasn't ugly. Looks and feels like a commercial OS.
I've tried most of the major distros, mostly on Ventoy, but see no reason to switch. My family members don't even know they're on Linux. I stayed with Chrome and installed Pinta for graphics so everything is easy to use.
I completely agree. I have very simple requirements and after trying Ubuntu about 6x over the past 20yrs, this time I thought I would give Mint a try after the Windows10 debacle. After 20mins I ended my live session quite disappointed. I gave Zorin a go and I haven't thought of switching since.
It just works. I've had problems, but I expected to, and they were all solved fairly simply. Thanks to the community too, you have contributed to this experience.
