Biomorph (Metroidvania)

Just finished completing this game called Biomorph. Not sure how much noteriety it has, or if it's well know or what, but if you're looking for a pretty good metroidvania where the completion (even for me, and I don't usually complete games) was around the 20 hour mark? I think you should definitely give it a look.

The art style's not up my alley, but dear GOD it is hard to find Metroidvanias that don't insist on being pixel art. (I know they exist; I don't need to be disproven, but by and large it's a genre whose developers are attached to pixel art.) I'll definitely have to give it a look.

I'll agree on that. I like pixel art as much as the next guy, but not EVERYTHING needs to be pixel art. It also drives me insane that they'll do pixel art, but then do no optimization to make the games run on basically anything. It'll be as difficult to run than something else that has MUCH more graphically intensive stuff going on.

Thats my largest pet peeve with game developers these days, they don't optimize their games to run on all machines. When Subnautica originally came out, you needed a top of the line machine, just to get 30FPS out of it, terribly optimized!

Later down the line, they did finally optimize the game, so at least a mid-range machine could get 60FPS out of the game, while top of the line machines could get 120FPS. Any developer who chooses to not optimize their games, don't deserve my money!

Er hem! "notoriety"
