Hello, I've been recently trying out Zorin OS, but I've stumbled upon an issue that annoys me quite a lot. It's that when I hold left click on my mouse (example: when dragging a window) and moving my cursor to the side of my screen this weird box appears behind my cursor. Is there any way to fix this? I'm quite new to Linux so I don't really know what could be causing this.
Welcome to the Forum!
Is this when You move a File/Program Icon or when You want mark something?
Can you also please list your GPU information and drivers:
sudo lshw -C video
Or if you use inxi
inxi -G
I was testing out Zorin in a VM first, so that could be the cause. I did install the tools/drivers the setup recommended for VMs. Here is what the first command gave me:
*-display

Yes, vmwgfx displaying artifacts is very likely to be the cause, actually. Are you planning to run in VM or is it for testing only?
Most likely, this problem is limited to the VM environment.
No I was just testing, because I'm planning to switch eventually, but I wanted to try it first before wiping my drive.
