So after almost 3 months managed to get it working, just going to leave this here in case anybody has the same issue and stumbles across this.
Somehow after powering off zorin unsafely allowed me to see the zorin options thru its bootloader, managed to delete the nvidia driver and purge everything, however none of the recommended drivers from software application worked, tried updating kernel headers and many other things, what worked in the end was:

Purge all nvidia drivers.

Download the driver from nvidia website.

Blacklist nouveau driver.

Reboot.
-
Install the nvidia driver.
Now all works fine
