I need help relatively fast as this is my main working laptop. After seeing the system update pop up today I decided to update the laptop. After rebooting it just shows a lit black screen and didn't even show the booting up logos.
Zorin OS 17.2 or 17.3 Pro
AMD Ryzen 7
AMD Radeon Graphics
From the Grub Menu (If yours is set to hidden, begin tapping tab or esc at the boot motherboard splash screen to bring up the grub menu), Select the option for Zorin on... previous working kernel.
It would be the kernel lower on the list.
Once selected, proceed to boot on that kernel and test.
GNU GRUB version 2.06
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device of file completion.
grub>
I can't find a way to access al list with options like this.
There's a bit of code that goes away too quickly to record (likely some kind of booting code as the laptop displays that when it starts anyway) then goes back to the black screen as if I just rebooted it.
Ok. I figured it out. I had to press ESC once on boot up rather then multiple times as it skips past the menu. I loaded the older kernel and got the laptop working. Thank you.
