I have an ASUS Transformer Book T100TA-DK005H on which I would like to install Zorin Lite.
I attempted to install the OS via a live USB, and everything went smoothly. However, I get a black screen upon rebooting once the BIOS launches the OS.
The live USB of Zorin OS Lite is configured in UEFI.
Important thing to know: the Asus T100TA has an x64 processor, but its BIOS is made to install 32-bit.
However, it is possible to install x64 distributions, including Debian 12 that I was able to install without problems in x64, because its i386 version crashed "gnome-control-center" continuously.
Disturbingly, live USB only works with a safe graphics install, because when I select the standard installation option, USB live boots on a blank black screen.
After the installation of Zorin Lite, still in safe graphics install, the device restarts, but I now have the following error:
error: file '/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.
Grub Rescue >
Is it due to the Bios despite the fact that the processor is x64?
I tried to fix the file, but I didn't succeed. I think I'm doing it wrong.
Do you have your BIOS/UEFI also set as UEFI? When it uses legacy, you have to write your bootstick in MBR for legacy.
Do you have a problem with Asus or Acer? In your first post you asked for another notebook.
