I have tried Miracast using Gnome on my laptop, but I get a black screen no matter how I select my connection configuration. I have tried searching for solutions online to no avail so far, so has anyone any idea why I can seem to connect without getting any picture on the screen?
Zorin OS 18 now defaults to Wayland instead of Xorg (X11).
X11 is mature and established, while Wayland has a lot of inconsistencies that still need ironing out.
Have you tried logging in on Xorg, instead? It is known Miracast fails on Wayland.
IF that is a no-go, check your GPU:
sudo lshw -C video
and relay what youa re working with here. It may be a driver or firmware mismatch...
