Blank screen After Login

Hi All,

I'm having issues after logging into Zorin, as I get a black screen and nothing happens. I have to open my laptop as I'm using my laptop with two monitors.
I ahve to disconnect everything and put the computer into suspend and then power the laptop back up disconnected from all devices.

Can anyone recommend a fix for this and what is causing this?

PC Specs:
Make: Dell
Model: 3901 2-in-1 laptop
CPU Base: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU
RAM: 16gb
ROM: 256gb SSD
Graphics: Intel UHD 620 1GB

Thanks In Advance

It sounds like booting from default is not saving your monitor config; Are you using Core or Lite?

You might try adding the command xrandr --auto to your ~.profile file so that it runs upon each login to automatically refresh your displays based on the connected configuration.

Hi there,

I'm using 16.2 pro

How do I add that line in, via console or in the config file?

Kind Regards

In your Home directory (noted in shorthand with the tilde ~ on the forum), there is a profile file. If you do not see it, it is because Hidden Files is enabled. Hidden files hides files so the the home directory is not cluttered with important files. You can reveal them by going to the home directory, then tapping the keyboard shortcut ctrl+h
You then will see the hidden files which all have a (.) in front of the name.
~.profile

You can just add the line at the bottom of the profile and save the file.

Thanks I'll give a try and report back.
