Blank screen when wake from sleep

I have left my laptop charging with the lid closed and when I come back after a while the screen is not displayed and I have to resort to a forced restart, is this something that happens to someone else or is it just me?

It is something like a black screen that sometimes flashes and you can see the home screen, but it does not go beyond that.
