Bluetooth audio loss issues

I am completely new to linux and zorin os. I have installed it on my fairly old laptop to make it run smoother. Everything is working fine except one thing. Whenever I connect my bluetooth earbuds, a handful of problems show up. First of all, sometimes it shows up as handsfree mode even though the previous time it was in AAC mode. Then, sometimes the audio just stops. The video keeps playing, the device is connected but the audio just stops for like a few seconds. Sometimes 1 or 2 seconds and sometimes longer. I would like a solution to this problem cause this is making me wanna switch back to windows really bad. I have tried all the solutions showed by chatgpt or gemini but nothing seemed to work.

Hello and welcome,
Do you have dual boot ?
if no, does secure boot is disable from your BIOS ?
i f yes, disable fast boot in windows power management settings.
We will also see if you are on Xorg or Wayland, could you give me the output of

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

I am on wayland. I am not on dual boot, I am only running zorin os. And yes secure boot is disabled.

You can try it with switching to X11/Xorg. To do that, go to the login screen. Click there on your profile so that the password field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a gear icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on xorg'' and then log in and test it.

Hey it seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks a lot for helping. Do I have to choose this xorg everytime when I login or is it just one time?

no you will now login in Xorg.
I'm glad it helped.
Think to mark this topic as resolved

Could you help me with another problem? I created a new topic for it.
