BrosTrend wifi adapter worked and then not working

We recently installed Zorin in a 10 year old Lenovo PC that was running Windows 10. While running Windows 10 the internal wifi adapter failed and we purchased a wifi adapter that was working fine with Windows 10. The computer cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 so we decided that we would start using Zorin Linux.
The old wifi adapter did not have a Linux driver that we were using with Windows 10, hence we purchased the new Adapter that has a wifi driver

We installed the BrosTrend AC1200 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter with Zorin and it worked and connected to the internet. We then shut down the computer to move it and removed the adaptor. After moving the computer, we replaced the adapter and started the computer and the adapter now does not work. We tried reinstalling but that did not work.

We are not familiar with Linux command line commands so not sure how to troubleshoot.

What is your output for

sudo lshw -C network

lsusb

Please disable secure boot and fast boot in your BIOS and if you have Dualboot with Windows also fast startup in Windows.

Hi Bill,

I got the AC650 and though it worked out of the box on the newer Kernels, there were always some issues. Like WiFi stopped working, adapter not found, etc.
I then installed the drivers with the following instructions and it worked much better. Just a hiccup every few weeks. Nothing, what a reboot coulnd't resolve.

I connected the PC over Smartphone Tethering to download the driver.

Greetings.

Welcome to the Forum!

Got it broke or didn't it simply not work anymore? Did You tested it with Zorin?

So, You have used a different One and then changed back to the BrosTrend?
