Brother DCP-J715W

Good morning,
I'm trying Zorin OS Core.

My network has two Brother all-in-one printers connected, a newer MFC-J890DW and a slightly older DCP-J715W.

While I found the newer printer configured and present as both a printer and a scanner for the DCP-J715W, I downloaded the drivers from the manufacturer's website and followed the installation instructions. They worked for the printer but not for the scanner.

What else could I do to get the scanner to work? It's also seen as active but not present in scanning applications.

Hi, welcome to Zorin OS!

Did you try to disable the firewall, perhaps? It's available in the applications menu as "Firewall Configuration". Just toggle it off as a test, and see if that makes a difference.

I have a brother 4100 fax and after i follow brothers instructions I unplug mine from the usb restart computer then replug it in and all works fine

I verified, but the firewall isn't active.
