Calendar, Contacts not synching with Online-Account (Nextcloud)

What happened?
I had to renew my App Pass Token for Nextcloud. For Apps that usually need a username+password cannot access without that when 2FA is enabled in NC.
So i generated a new App Pass Token for my ZorinOS PC.
I had to enable a new connection in settings -> online accounts -> Nextcloud
URL+Username+AppPassToken -> ENTER

all 3 functions where enabled
calendar, contacts, files

After restarting my calendar / contacts -> there where no entries anymore.
So i checked and saw that my online calendar and birthdays of contacts are not tagged. I rwetagged them -> a small synching symbol appears but no calendar entries from the nextcloud become visible.

I reinstalled all
gnome-calendar, gnome-contacts, evolution
I deleted /home/$USERNAME/.config/gnome-session/saved-session

Nothing helped.

I entered a new block date into the gnome-calendar in calendar of my NC-Account and synched again. Voila -> the new entry appeared in Nextcloud (Web Interface -> Calendar)
Deleting it in ZorinOS and synching deletes in NC as well.
Vice versa doesn't work. Modifying entries / deleting entries in NC Web Interfaces does not bring the update to Zorin?

I have done this as well (but it is not Zorin concerned so maybe different)

but also didn't work.

Any help to get my calender synch back to Zorin?

Files is working!!
I get a nextcloud davs:// in nautilus and can access my files. So the App Pass Token should be good.

I suspect it's a Gnome Online Applications issue which Zorin has no control over:

Today, there were updates of several GNOME packages, especially:

  • evolution 3.44.4-2 → 3.46.1-1
  • gnome-online-accounts 3.44.0-1 → 3.46.0-1

This seemingly has fixed this issue for me.

Seems these updates are the clou in this game.
But ZorinOS (Pro) still does not offer those packages by (pro) repository.

So hope this will be on the agenda in the future ... :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

So, we have seen a release of the 17.2 of ZorinOS and there are now several weeks passed since last update check if my problem solving files-version are part of the zorin repos ... sadly not.

I still have the problem not to be able to use ZorinOS as expected concerning synch of calendar and contacts with my nextcloud (in between Nextcloud 30 Hub9) ...

I am not able to see / edit my calendar and / or contacts in ZorinOS as before the problem occurs.

Is there a scedule / map releasing the above mentioned packages updates to solve these probs?

In a productive environment it is really a basic needed function ... :neutral_face:

I have removed (the purpose was temporarily) evolution and it's components.

A newly reboot brought back my sync :interrobang: :roll_eyes:

So i absolutely don't know why this work - and now i am a bit reluctant to re-install evolution ...

For the moment it works - a bit confused.

In fact that i use a webui of my mailserver i don't really miss evolution and in addition there are great alternatives like Thunderbird as well.

Hope that i must not set evolution as apt-mark hold to avoid re-installations through zorinos upgrades, no?!

You can held an installed package, but one that is removed should not need to be held.
