Can I enable to fingerprint on hp-14-em?

Hi, I'm trying enable fingerprint on my hp-14-em. It has Elan Arm M4 fingerprint sensor. Some article says it works with driver by AUR but I don't know how to add driver. Is there someone using Elan's sensor?

What is the output of

lsusb | grep elan

Is this okay?

Do you mean this guide?

I'm not sure if you can use this guide and adapt it for ubuntu and build the driver from source. It's too difficult for me to advice you.

In ubuntu 24.04 Zorin 18 is based on the fingerprint seems not to be supported.

Hi and welcome.

If a fingerprint reader is a necessity I would advise you purchase a dedicated piece of hardware that complies with the Linux kernel, but they are not cheap:

Thank you, I'm trying it but I'm beginner and I'm using Zorin so I'm struggling with installing the elanmoc2 driver. what can I do?

Thank you but I can't pay more :sad_but_relieved_face:
