New Linux user here. (Not any kind of a 'techie'). Successfully installed Zorin on my desktop. Things were going well but I kept having to enter my password. Got into 'password settings'. Somehow I messed things up. Now I can never get beyond the initial password request. Tried all the suggested keys (esc; left shift; ALL the 'F' keys) during boot. No joy. I chose the option to keep Windows. Don't have a clue as to what to do now.

Do I understand it right that You wanted Automatic Login active (Login without Password)?
What exactly do You mean with ''initial password request''? The Login Screen? Can You make a Picture and post it here?
And is it a brief enough time since you installed that a Reinstall is an easier option?
Yes, changing things in Passwords, on any OS, definitely falls into a "Know your path before walking ahead" situation.
Thanks for the reply. Actually, I stumbled through the issues I was having and resolved most of my current issues. That said... I just can't get the concept of 'keyring'. I.E. If I try to launch 'Brave' I get a popup "Authentication required"
"The password no longer matches login keyring".
I installed Firefox which works just fine but its my best guess I need to fix this.
To explain that: When You log in with Password the Password automatically unlocks the Keyrings for Brave. When You have set up Automatic Login - so start into the System without type in Your Password - this can't happen because You don't type in Your Password. And that is the Reason why You get the Prompt. So, if You want avoid this disable Automatic Login.
