Then, double-clicked:
"cnijfilter-ix6800series_4.10_1_amd64.deb"

Printer still reads:
"Canon iX6800series... PS+Gutenprint v5.3.3

Is there a Terminal command that I should have made, to "enable' th 4.10 driver?
Primary issue is with "printer settings" for print jobs, greyscale is the only ("b/w") option... which consistently burns up color ink. The iX6850 also has a double-sized black cartridge.
Windows driver/software allows "black and white"
Found this out the hard way when, printer was stuttering/struggling while printing out large b/w .pdf document; opened the hood... ink cartridges were lit up like a Christmas tree!
