Canoscan lide 700f

I am a new user to ZORIN, loving the journey. I have connected my CANOSCAN LIDE 700F scanner, and ZORIN immediately recognised it as the specific device. Everything seems to work, when I scan the machine kicks into action and scans. However, it scans and delivers a completely blank page. I assume that it does have a driver as it 'recognises' and identifies the device correctly, goes through the scanning motions, but delivers a blank. The scanner works correctly when connected to a W/11 system.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks, Johann.

You should try downloading and testing VueScan. The free version leaves a watermark, and as far as I know, it's one of the best ways to check if the problem is with the software. Please try it and see if you still get a blank page with this program.

On the canon website there is no linux driver available for your scanner.

What does this command in terminal show?

"sudo sane-find-scanner"

Perhaps your scanner works with skanlite? Enter in terminal:

"sudo apt install skanlite"

I'd try this first. If it doesn't help and you are searching for a free driver, you could try it with git sane backends.

Welcome to the Forum!

When You open the preinstalled Document Scanner Application is Your Scanner recognized?

Hi and Welcome. I have a Canon LiDE 600F and only recently discovered skanlite as posted by @Forpli . It works great.
