Can't Boot to Zorin on HP ProBook 840 G2

I have installed Zorin 18.1 Core on my HP EliteBook 840 G2 and when it restarts I get the no bootable image message.
BIOS is set to UEFI Native (without CSM) with secure boot turned on. I have set the define customised boot option to \EFI\ubuntu\shimx64.efi and still it won't boot.
I've tried installing without secure boot turned on, changed to UEFI Hybrid (with CSM) and Legacy, but nothing works.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum!

To avoid Issues, I would suggest to let Secure Boot disabled.

When You still have Windows installed or somewhere a Windows PC, I would recommend to use Rufus for creating the Bootstick. In Rufus, You can set up on the ''Partition Sheme'' Option GPT for Your UEFI BIOS. Do that and format the USB Stick to FAT32 and then try it again.

Thank you for that suggestion.
Sadly it didn't work.
As another option, I have just tried to use Legacy BIOS and formatted the USB drive using MBR and target of BIOS or UEFI and that doesn't work either.
Any more suggestions?

Ta

heres the specs..looks to me like this maybe a computer for 17 or 18 lite

That is it, although I have 16Gb RAM.
It runs the live version of Zorin quite happily, I just can't get it to boot from the HD once installed.

Oh you upgraded to 16GB ram well done...ok

When You are in the BIOS is the USB Stick visible there?

It is

Okay, and when You choose the Stick in BIOS to start it?

Can you see your HDD/SSD in the UEFI?
Are you setting the boot order to boot from the HDD/SSD first?

Hi and welcome.

Is your hard drive in the BIOS set to RAID? GNU/Linux needs it to be AHCI.

Yeah will start from USB

No, it's not in RAID.

Sorted it - it was the hard drive. Put a different one in and it all works as it should.
HD was fine with W11!
