Can't drag files out of archive 🐛

This is quite limiting. I notice it has been previously reported:

Is there somewhere to make an actual bug report?

Does extracting them manually work instead?

You can right-click, extract. But you can't open the archive, then drag a file out. It shows the "+", but it doesn't extract the file.

Which basically means you need to extract the whole archive, then delete everything that you didn't want.

Like @Abdulhalim I installed "Ark" which i'm familiar with on Plasma and while it was a visually different process it was the same outcome - it couldn't extract from within the archive.

It seems to be working fine for me, except when I use the Desktop to drop the file. You need to have another window of the file manager open for it to work.

I had this issue either, and I was using extract button, and I am used to it now, BUT I just tested the drag function, and it works! It's fine

Are you using xorg or Wayland?

So, the issue is not solved on Wayland, I was on xorg, it's OK on xorg, but not on Wayland

@dman have you tried extracting from the archive whilst running Zorin on xorg?

IIRC, I used the default installation. I believe that is Wayland. (i actually don't remember if there's a choice during install of if one needs to manually choose later.)

I haven't. But i don't really want to run xorg. How old is the Wayland on Zorin? I'm using Wayland on Nobara and it's groovy.

I don't know but guess it is the most compatible with Gnome 43. The downside to Wayland is lack of video-conferencing/shared desktop support.

I can run xorg if i must i suppose. I'd just rather not. Maybe i'll be able to swap to Wayland for Zorin 18.
