Cant find USB device in Zorin 17.2

Hi,
For a few days I've been struggling with USB devices (USB soundcards and USB/serial converters) that can be found/ identified in Zorin17.2 using "lsusb", but won't work when used in third party software.
When i plug the device in my Raspberry it works perfectly (Pi only used to verify hardware is OK), so I'm pretty sure it's a software thing.
Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks for any help.

(Edited to add clarification)

Welcome to the Forum!

Is this on every USB Port on Your Machine?

The Raspberry Pi uses a modified kernel that may include additional drivers for specific devices. I think you'll have better luck asking in their community forums about which drivers may be added that make this work right out of the box (unless someone here knows?).

Running a Google search regarding this issue, turns up several results on Raspberry Pie forums, so its a known issue. I am not a fan of the way their website forum is structured, its very circa 1990's look, but you may be able to find your answers there.

To @zenzen and @StarTreker:

If I understand it right, the Problem is not on the Raspi. It was only used for Reference and works there:

So, I guess the Issue is on a different Machine(?) At least, so I understand that.

The Pi is only used to check that the hardware works fine .
The problem is on the Zorin machine.
Switching port doesn't help.

yes ; switching doesn't help.
Using the same cables on the Pi to test the hardware, so those are also fine.

The Pi is used to test the hardware.
The problem is on a PC with Zorin17.2

And normal USB Stick's work or do You have Problems with these, too?

And did You checked if in the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates Drivers offered for Your USB Soundcard?

I'll have to check that tab.

Used an usb-stick to install zorin, but haven't tried any since. Also checking.......

From the description I gather the devices are audio interfaces of some sort? Maybe you need to use PipeWire instead of PulseAudio, as per this thread:

checked ; works normally.

Also checked ; no additional drivers available

Hmm ... maybe Your USB Soundcard isn't supported. Did You take a Look at the Manufacurer's Website if there stand anything to Linux Support? Maybe there is a Driver offered?

Could you specify the devices that you're using? Maybe we can find something more specific to them. It may be also due to the kernel version which is higher in Raspberry Pi OS. If the devices are recent, the drivers for them may not exist in the current kernel version used by Zorin OS.
