Can't open Tor Browser in Zorin 17.2

Upgraded yesterday... No TOR today... it opens a text file, but doesn't open TOR. Uninstalled, and reinstalled, no change... Installed Zorin version from software store, still doesn't work. Changed properties to open in terminal, but it doesn't allow me to click on "open in terminal". Tried all previous suggestions, to no avail... at least I have Tails for now until this glitch is resolved. Thanks for any further suggestions

how did you install TOR 1st ? Before the software store version ?

When I've installed Tor Browser in the past I download the tarball, extract it with Ark, enter the extracted folder and look for the Tor/Web browser icon. It will look like a .txt file. You need to right click this and select Properties, then go to permissions tab and check, 'Run as executable/program'. This should change the icon ibto the familiar icon. You can also do the same thing with Firefox ESR which I covered in my Vimeo video here:

Thanks for the input 14nd, I appreciate your time. it was very easy in OS16, either from Zorin app software store or download it from website and run it from downloads folder, however something seems to be missing that doesn't allow a proper installation since the 17.2 upgrade. I'm also not able to scan since the upgrade, and unable to install drivers as I did in OS 16. Maybe I'm gonna use the stick that came with my Starbook and reinstall the original; and wait for a year or so to get these bugs worked out o the new 17.2 OS. Thanks again 14nd

Thanks swarfendor437, looks like we have some things in common, I also prefer Evolution. As for installations by terminal, i still shy away, or find the commands in Zorin chat, and usually find a way to get the job done. Mostly everything in the video, I have done, including, as I told 14nd, installs from web download and Zorin software store, and some from the vendors' site however, nothing I did before in 16.0 OS is working in the 17.2 upgrade and as I said earlier, i believe I'm gonna start over with a fresh new original installation that came with my Starbook and go back to Zorin 16. It was working perfect for me without any glitches whatsoever. Thanks again swarfendor437, I truly appreciate your time spent to create the video

Like to help where I can. You ought to give Q4OS 5.6.r1 a try as a VM using virt-manager. It uses Plasma, not Gnome.
