I forgot my admin password, and ive seen in other forums just to boot into grub and do something, however i get a message saying "grub failed boot detection" (not opening grub) so someone in another forum told me to reinstall zorin, i did a bootable usb and tried following the instructions on the main page however, installing zorin needs grub? im stuck with this and dont know how to fix this

When You install Zorin, what Option did You choose? ''Erase disk'' or ''Something else''? When You choose Erase disk, this shouldn't be a Problem because the whole Disk will be wiped and then the OS will be installed. But be aware that this will delete all Your Data that are currently on the Disk. So, they should be saved before You do this.

maybe you can fix boot, boot with your USB drive in live session and when you will be there launch a boot repair, you will find it in the menu
I didnt quite understand you, if you mean the first install, i dunno, i was gifted this pc with zorin already in it, if you mean while installing, i didnt even got to that step since i cant get into the "menu" to install bootable usb, if you mean while using rufus then i think i did? i dont quite remember
im sorry but i cant even get into grub, how am i supposed to get into live session?
