Can't seem to get Zorin Connect to work

I've been running 17.3 Pro for a while and decided to try using Zorin Connect to link my Graphene OS Phone.

I've tried with and without the VPN on both devices (same VPN - Proton on each) and with and without the firewall being active on my PC. I've also set up the suggested rules in the firewall to allow access in both directions to 1714 and 1764 ports in general and for the specific IP of my phone. It just searches endlessly for a device.

From the phone end, I can't see a firewall as such but I've checked for a relevant security setting. I have tried manually pairing to the PC's IP address using both the ethernet and wifi connections. It says it can't ping either of them. Should be obvious but all devices are on my home wifi network.

It isn't critical for me to have the connection but it's a "nice to have" feature. I'd appreciate any help people can provide as to what steps I might be missing.

Is Zorin connect installed on your phone? I'm not sure if it is available for GrapheneOS. If it is not available you could try it with kde connect instead.

That sounds like a broader networking issue. Check that you have disabled any firewall rules and/or granted appropriate permissions to Zorin Connect.
