Can't start Zorin (probably disk is full)

I can't start Zorin. The whole system loading process just stops. I remember I was told the hard disk was full the last time the computer ran properly.

I managed to enter recovery mode. Is there anything I can do now?

Are you able to open Disks app and see if your root partition is indeed full.

You may try and clean apt and log fles. See this: How to free up space on linux ext4 - #8 by Aravisian

I cleaned some files but the computer still hangs up when it starts. Any other ideas what the issue might be and how to solve it?

Did you check how much spare partition capacity you have?
How big is it and how much spare?

Are you able to boot from your ZorinOS installation Live USB?
Maybe run fsck from the USB (not from the disk itself) to check its integrity.

Do you see any error messages?
What happens, blank screen or does it indicate anything that it is trying to start?
Have you had a look in logs to see it any reasons or warnings there.

How do I check the spare capacity?

The Zorin logo appears, then the screen turns black.

Booting from USB doesn't work. It doesn't recognize it, weird. (I press F7 at booting, the menu opens but I don't see the USB).

Any ideas?

Is it detected when You go in Your BIOS? If yes, You could start it from there.

No, it doesn't. No idea why that is.

@garfunkel Are you able to create another bootable Zorin USB and see if that is found by your BIOS.

Did we ask if you are dual-booting alongside Windows?

How did you do that if computer does not start from hard drive or USB? I'm confused.

How is Your USB Stick formatted? In FAT32?

No idea, how do I see this? I just used Balena Etcher to create it.

Here the screenshot when I try to boot Zorin.

Connect Your USB Stick, open Disks and choose ot and then You should see on the right side the Format.

And here the Boot menu screens.

I see on Your 2nd Picture that the Entry ''Hard Disk: ubuntu'' is on Boot Position 4. You could try to set it on Position 1.

I don't see the USB drive there. See screenshots above.

On the Picture with the Boot Order are some USB Devices listed. Position 2 or 6 could it be maybe.

Websearch of that shows this for one: boot - Ubuntu not booting due to iwlwifi error-WRT: Invalid buffer destination - Ask Ubuntu

There are 2 items there discussing disk full. But you need to boot to recovery mode somehow via HD or Live USB.

It would be good if you answered my questions in post #8 here Can't start Zorin (probably disk is full) - #8 by zabadabadoo
