Is there a way to change the animation style for minimizing/maximizing? The magic lamp effect ruins the overall beauty of the OS for me.
Also, my "Enable animations" toggle in Zorin Appearance doesn't seem to do anything; animations are always present. Odd.
Fresh install of Zorin 16.1.
You can use gnome-tweaks
sudo apt install gnome-tweaks
to disable the Magic Lamp extension.
Or, you can remove the extension entirely by uninstalling it
sudo apt remove --purge gnome-shell-extension-zorin-magic-lamp-effect

If you did like some of the old compiz animations, you could always add 'Gnome-flashback/Gnome-fallback' Desktop Environment and install Compiz but can't say I have tried this.
