There are a few threads that cover how to change the default file manager from Nautilus to Nemo and Thunar, but would assume the process to be similar for any file manager. Please take a look and see if they help:
If you are like me, and like the Nemo file manager over the built in Nautilus file manager, here is a guide how to make Nemo the default file manager on your Zorin OS.

Can somebody tell me how to set my default file manager to PCManFM? I have installed it and completely removed Nautilus. Now when I double click a folder on the desktop, nothing happens. I have to right click the desktop and then click open with and then select PCManFM. This isn't user friendly and I just want to be able to have it automatically open with pcmanfm. Help pls?
I really want to have Nemo as my default file manager but I can’t find a way to change to it from Nautilus.
