Clearly label Wayland and Xorg Options at Login

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!

Because it was a Topic here:

Strange inconsistency between two Zorin installs

Don't you think it might be a bit confusing to have these two login options... be different across the same Zorin install? I can certainly see why one option would be picked over the other under certain conditions, like you wrote, but I'm really baffled why the two options would be flipped in position and label.

I would like to take this up to make the Suggestion to clearly label the Wayland and Xorg Options on the Login to:

• Zorin Desktop on Wayland
• Zorin Desktop on Xorg

I'm not the first one who suggested that. It would take out some Irritations and Confusion what I've read here from Time to Time and in the linked thread, too. Especially when that turned when You install Zorin with Nvidia Drivers. So, I would find it good to clearly label both Options as what they are.

This has been an issue for years, I'm surprised how this very obvious issue, has not yet been addressed, after all this time. I agree with you @Ponce-De-Leon

From memory, the only saving grace of SDDM is that there was a box that showed you what display protocol was present at login. But really only for KDE Plasma.
