Command / Service Not Found

I'm new to Zorin OS and still have much to learn so assume I know nearly nothing.

Any command I attempt in Terminal responds with a "command not found" or "service not found." This is frustrating especially since I've not been able to locate a fix here or on the internets.

An example of this is when I tried issuing a command to release the IP address I followed instructions to open Terminal and issue "sudo dhclient -r" which, after entering my password return the command not found response.

What should I be looking for to fix this? Guidance is much appreciated. I don't have a problem with researching but I'm coming up with nothing that's been helpful so far.

I don't know what Commands You have tried so far but this specific one:

sudo dhclient -r

Doesn't work because You have to install something before You can use it. You need the Package isc-dhcp-client or isc-dhcp-client-ddns to use it.
