Could not initialise openGL Support

Hey everyone, got everyhting perfectly inline for what i want zorin for, browsing internet & video editing...but if i try to play a video, i get that error...

I dont get it on x11, but... i dont want to use that, as its really laggy... ( so even though i wanted x11 for color profiles, ive stuck with wayland, as its such great performance - ive just edited the colour on my screen instead )

Anyone have any ideas?? ideally i dont want to install another player like VLC as i like it to just be default what comes with

If using on Wayland, you need to launch with GDK_GL=gles

You can set it as an environment variable:

sudo nano /lib/environment.d/99-environment.conf

export GDK_GL=gles

Is this on Zorin 17 or 18? Totem is the default one, yes. But there will come a new default Gnome Video Player, you can already install as flatpak. Maybe this will work better. At least, it should be worth a Try:

I had this problem and typed all the commands etc and nothing fixed it completely. The OpenGL error message doesnt come up now and the videos actually play but are still very choppy. This player helped a lot to make videos look better in my case https://mpv.io/
