.ico is such inferior outdated format, like Microsoft 
Microsoft and Windows are the nightmare most PC users can't wake up from.
This can soon be remedied with exactly the right combination of Linux and GUI + drop-in replacements for the most important Windows programmes, and most importantly 'Easy Installation' -- I can feel a change of paradigm coming, with each new release of Windows causing more trauma than the one before it.
Microsoft seriously needs to be knocked off it's perch.

i agree , but doubt it will happen in our lifetime.
MS is too big to fail...like FB...like whatsapp ect ect
sheeples will just carry on with what they been used to for YEARS.
basically ppl are afraid of change.

idk , iv'e installed win10 , and installed zorin , zorin is by far easier and less fuzz to install
Microsoft and Meta are counting on perpetual Metathesiophobia, but there's a strong possibility people are waiting for something good enough to justify the effort of change.
That's what makes ZorinOS a magnet for anyone interested in Linux as an alternative, but not willing to work for an MSc in computer science to make installation possible.
Every version of Windows is mind-numbing tedium to install..
no mental difficulty involved, but like watching paint dry. A feeling of one's life-span being reduced by hours or days.
