Customizing Login Screen (ZorinOs Lite XFce)

I had Lightgdm Settings installed using sudo apt install lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings. I cant see the theme im using in the theme options.

Im using a third party theme.

You could try to put your theme to /usr/share/themes

Take a look at the folder of your theme if your user has read permissions to the folder and all contained files.

Where did You saved the Theme? And when it was compressed, did You extract it?

It says permission denied

You need to open your filemanager as root.
Enter in terminal

sudo -i
thunar

(or if you use another file manager than the default xfce one enter nemo or nautilus...here instead of thunar)

Then you have access to all files. Please be careful.

Copy your theme from ~/.themes in home directory and paste it in /usr/share/themes.
Press ctrl+h to show the hidden files in your filemanager.
Close the filemanager when you are ready.

And it worked, Thanks.

Also is there a way to change the icons(im using a third party theme icons too and i cant see it in the Lightdm Settings) and the background?

Put the icon theme from your home directory to
/usr/share/icons
same way as before.

Backgrounds save at
usr/share/backgrounds

Just out of curiosity:

What is your impression of Zorin lite (desktop) compared to Zorin core? Is it better for you/your machine or are you disappointed?

I haven't been using Gnome since you helped me install Xfce . I'm liking Xfce (or Zorin Lite), especially with how customizable it is.

Im not seeing much difference in the performance between Zorin Lite and Zorin Core (or maybe i haven't notice).

Although Gnome has better features, Its modern and reliable. I felt like Xfce is lacking, it makes sense to me because Xfce is meant for low end computers.

Eh... Gnome crashes far more often and leaves you only with a "OOps something has gone wrong" message. I would not vouch it as more reliable. I am curious as to what features it has - that XFCE is lacking.
Though you may mean Zorin Desktop has more features - The ZorinGroup adds a very large number of features to Gnome.

For example, Gnome has a built-in screen recorder, which Xfce doesn’t. Also, Xfce’s emoji selector feels a bit awkward to use (at least for me). I could use Rofi’s emoji selector, but it seems like it’s not available yet on the Zorin Lite version of Xfce.

That said, I’m totally fine with Xfce. In fact, I’m actually thinking of removing Gnome (or Zorin Core), since I mainly use Xfce now and don’t want to keep something installed on my computer if I’m not using it. Besides, I can just use third-party applications like simplescreenrecorder for screen recording (though I haven’t tried it yet).

Hmmm... kinda? Zorin Core is my first distro and i havent used any other distro.

If you want see the Vanilla Gnome Desktop, You can take a Look at Debian or Fedora. They deliver that.
