Hi, everyone. First time here on the forum, but I've been using Zorin for a while now.
I was trying to debug and fix some theming problems in my Zorin, mainly because in some applications the highlighted text was quite difficult to read with the default theme in dark mode. However, I think I accidentally deleted (out of ignorance, I admit) the GNOME fallback theme folders, and now my icons appear like this, both in Adwaita and Hicolor (both of which should contain the default system app icons from what I have gattered).
Some system icons are also showing like that but with an "unknown file" placeholder icon, like the one from Zorin Connect.
The directories for both themes (which I tried reinstalling but it didn't solve the problem) are practically empty; there are no icons for most applications there, except for a few and LibreOffice.
What I've tried so far is reinstalling the Adwaita and Hicolor themes, rebuilding the icon cache, and resetting the GNOME settings, but none of that has solved it yet. I think the problem actually lies in the fact that the icons don't really exist there, and the Zorin installation is what initially created all those icons, and now the system simply doesn't have the files to display (which makes me a little desperate knowing that this will be a lot of work to fix).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
