Didn't know I was into rhythm games

Never played music rythm games before, but I really like the rhythm minigame from deltarune. So far T-ranked (highest available rank) 2 out of the 3 available songs in both difficulties. "Knock You Down" would probably be at least S-rank in the normal difficulty by now if two attempts weren't enough to leave my hand pretty tired with how complex it is, but I'm doing better each day I try

First rhythm game I ever played was Parappa The Rappa, extremely old game by todays standards, I think it was PS1 era. I only played it, cause it came on a demo disk, back when those were a thing.

This game was cringe central, I think it was meant for 5 year olds.

Hopefully, Deltarune is a better game.

There was a hugely popular rhythm game from the 2000's, used a Nintendo Wi console, I forget what it was called, cause I already got away from Nintendo, and also all consoles in general, after the Xbox 360. I'm a PC gamer only now.

I looked up the name of the most popular rhythm game ever made, Guitar Hero. Gosh that game was popular with kids, they actually wasted money on overpriced guitar shaped controllers. Not my thing personally, I'm an FPS gamer.

Let us know how Deltarune is for you.

It is a pretty good game. Though, it is not centered around rhythm in specific, but the rhythm part is actually quite good.

This game is more about the story than the gameplay: if you take a moment to read and also interact with other characters that are optional interacting with, so far the 4 released chapters gave me around 25 hours (not counting the time I'm spending replaying the minigames nor the alternate route), but if you tried to skip everything and focus on the gameplay itself, it would take a much shorter time.

The story so far is interesting, there is a big variety of characters (funny, cute, interesting, slightly annoying...) and the gameplay does get quite challenging sometimes. Most of the music is also amazing.

I generally do like rhythm games, though I don't really play too many. I tried Bullets Per Minute, an FPS rhythm game, but I wasn't too into it. I think the colours were too similar for me to get too far into the game.

A game I did enjoy and is almost always relatively cheap was Crypt of the Necrodancer:

If you wanted to give another one a try, currently it's discounted heavily again, so it wouldn't cost much to see if it's something you'd like too.
