When the OS is inactive for a period of time the application icons disappear from the display. Anyone know why? And how can they be brought back without rebooting? Thanks
MikeJB, what build are you using? Zorin 15? Core or Lite? Zorin 16 beta?

You might try pressing alt+F2 to open the launcher, then typing in r and hitting the enter key to restart your gnome-shell.
Or, you may need to reinstall Nautilus. Nautilus governs the Desktop.
sudo apt-get reinstall -y nautilus
