A (likely malicious) attempt is underway to strip support for btrfs, xfs, zfs, hfsplus, JPEG, PNG, LVM, and LUKS-encrypted disks from Ubuntu's signed GRUB bootloader builds

Is there a plan to address this potential major threat?

Does the team have the capacity to fully fork Ubuntu if needed?
