Do windows emulators work on ZorinOS?

Windows's Emulators works on ZorinOS? Like bluestacks

bluestacks is a windows app so it wont run native on zorin.

for android stuff people use waydroid. for windows programs wine or bottles is the usual path.

Thread moved to General questions.

Interesting thread here:

Genymotion does not support ARM or other architectures, and most apk platforms have started using such architecture. Waydroid on the other hand has bugs, and it hasn't worked for me for 2 years. Before it worked for me with total normality

IMHO the best way is to use a Windows VM:

If you mean "does an emulator that works on Windows also work on Zorin OS?" then that depends and will vary from one emulator to the next. If it does, their website would say so and you should follow instructions for Ubuntu / Debian / ".deb" installation.

If you mean "is there an emulator to run Windows software on Zorin OS?" then yes, though the option depends on what software you want to use.

  • Zorin has pretty decent support for Windows software built in, which is based on WINE and will run a lot of things but not everything.
  • A full Windows VM (virtual machine) as already suggested will let you run literally any and all Windows software because it is Windows, but the apps won't integrate into your launcher / Linux start menu.
  • Projects like WinApps and WinBoat are trying to solve that last bit, but both are in early development and require some technical knowhow to really get working properly.
