Do you need a server to run Tripwire or its alternative, AIDE?

I’ve been looking into something like Tripwire or its alternative, AIDE, to check the data integrity of binaries to ensure that there have been no malicious alterations. However, I do not run a server - I use Cloudflare/GoDaddy for that sort of thing, which is a bit freeing.

My question is, if I want such a tool is running a server a prerequisite? https://blog.rapid7.com/2017/06/30/how-to-install-and-configure-aide-on-ubuntu-linux/ and similar pages in the case of Tripwire lead me to believe that it is. Is there such a tool if I do not run a server, or do I need to be running one?

I think both of those are for servers - take a look here:
