Using fresh install Zorin 17.3 Core.
Been a hardcore Windoze tech guy for 35 years, thought I'd give the Linux Zorin experience a try.
First major issue, no Onedrive integration, think this needs Ubuntu 24, I believe Z 17 uses Ubuntu 22. Hopefully an update to 18 soon?
Moreover - using the inbuilt Nautilus I can't drag & drop files from Home folder to online browser based sites, including Onedrive, I can use their upload button but that's not the point. I've tried several.
Spotted a similar post here about D&D, tried sudo apt reinstall nautilus
no difference, tried starting Nautilus using sudo apt nautilus - boom resolved.
Is D&D supported out the box? Seems ok on the same machine between various folders, just D&D to browser based sites.
That is correct, Zorin OS 17 is based on Ubuntu 22.04 and uses the GNOME desktop environment at version 43. Native integration with OneDrive is only available starting at version 46, which for Zorin OS means waiting until the next major release.
There's no fixed scheduled date for when this will be released but the Zorin OS developers have stated that should happen throughout the following months.
For the time being, I'd suggest you look into one of the options mentioned by @Forpli. If you need some guidance, here's a guide on how to do that — the exact version might vary as this was written for the previous version of Zorin OS 16 but the overall steps are the same:
Yes, it is. But as you pointed out there seems to be a few bugs that were recently introduced as part of a recent upgrade. I'd suggest you open a new thread to discuss this issue separately for the time being.
Thanks. I was about to install onedrive from abraunegg, but wan't sure if this was just a sync tool rather than full integration into Nautilus (where I can see folders etc).
I'll take a look at OneDriveGUI - more up my street lol!
Ah ha, I see why I havent spotted this, it doesn't appear in Zorin Software catalogue. It's an appImage, I'm still getting my head around Flatpak/Snap/Zorin OS apt. So many packagers to have to deal with in Linux, I know everyone likes to be different but...headache!
Cheers again, really helpful - onwards an upwards on my learning journey
