Epson L3251 not working

Hi there!
I’ve recently switched to zorin and I’m having lots of trouble getting the printer to scan or connect to the pc. I need to scan documents for my job, so this is a time sensitive situation. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!

Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled? If Windows is still installed: Is Fast Start-Up in Windows disabled? Did You check the Manufacturer's Website if there are Drivers for Linux offered?

this may help

https://download-center.epson.com/softwares/?device_id=L3250+Series&region=DE&os=DEBX64&language=en

Download the drivers you like, then go to your Downloads folder.
Doubleclick on the epson-inkjet-printer .deb file to install it.
Do the same with epson-printer-utility .deb file.

Unzip the epsonscan2-bundle tar.gz by doubleclicking.
Then doubleclick on the deb file to open it. Then right-click on an empty space there and select "open in terminal".
Then enter in terminal

./install.sh

After the installation click on your start menu and enter epson there to make the setup.

Yes. I did try the official drivers. Just to specify, all software I’ve tried just crashes, doest nothing or in case of the epson software, just says that the printer is busy.

Which package format did you select for the Linux drivers? Did you select the LinuxDeb(x64) ones as in the link I sent you?

I tried the .deb 64 bit and i also tried the rpm version

But not the Linux Deb(ARM 64Bit), or? That is wrong. Select Linux Deb(x64).
I can launch the programs, but I have no Epson device to test.

RPM packages don't work on Zorin, they are e.g. for Fedora. You can convert them into .deb packages when no .deb packages are available.

The actual epson scan 2 program, is way too buggy. It always crashes when it tries to scan a document, but so do other scanner programs i’ve tried

I really need and would appreciate if someone would help me out with this

Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

Should it run in Wayland, You could try it with switching to X11/Xorg. To do that, go to the Login Screen. Click there on Your Profile so that the Passowrd Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.

Hi,

I have just installed printer drivers recently for a client who has an Epson ET-3950 all-in-one. Installed the drivers for the printer no problem, but the scanner needed an IP address. If your all-in-one has an LCD screen, go to Settings and select Print Network Settings. It was on a different distribution but should work.

If you want me to help you remotely, install Team Viewer for Linux and then I can login to your machine to try and sort the issue out once you give me an ID and password that TeamViewer generates. I recently helped another member install their Brother Printer.
