Error 'Missing Signed-By in the sources.list(5) entry for ...' after upgrading to Zorin premium

Hi.

I Just want to get help solving an error I experienced after upgrading to Zorin 18 Premium.

When running the terminal command 'apt' I get the following error message.

Command 'sudo apt update':
'N: Missing Signed-By in the sources.list(5) entry for ...'
(In Swedish 'N: Saknad Signed-By i sources.list(5)-posten för ...')
... ”https://packages.zorinos.com/stable”
... ”https://packages.zorinos.com/patches”
... ”https://packages.zorinos.com/apps”
... ”Zorin OS Pro - Zorin OS
... ”https://packages.zorinos.com/drivers”

This is caused by a missing property in the package manager settings.

How do I find the Zorin PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK?

A suggested solution:

  1. Click on the Start menu / System tools / Software updater (Swedish: Startmeny / Systemverktyg / Programuppdaterare).
  2. Let the update finish.
  3. Click on Settings
  4. Go to Other software (Swedish: Övrig Programvara)
  5. Select the line with 'Index of /stable/ ...'
  6. Click on Edit
  7. Click on Add in other fields (Swedish 'Andra fält').
  8. Add the key 'Signed-By' and then as Value add the Zorin PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK.

My problem is that I can't find the Zorin PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK and I suspect that the free Zorin packages and the premium Zorin packages are signed with different keys but the sources are configured on the same line.

Can you please check this solution here:

and see if it helps you?

Ah! That was a good instruction... I realize my system is a bit more messed up though so I need to rebuild my apt/sources.list.d folder completely

Now I know what to do at least :+1:

If you consider Aravisian's post#2 gave you the answer, please click the :white_check_mark:Solution under his post.

Let us know how the "rebuild" turns out.

I downloaded the Zorin 18.1 ISO and replaced my files in '/etc/apt/sources.list.d' with the files in the ISO and now things works!
