Hi. Is it possible to install ESET on Zorin? I know they used to make a Linux version, but they have stopped it for some reason. And how do ESET and ClamAV compare with one another?
Due to ESET dropping support for GnuLinux, there is no reason to, nor way of - installing it on Zorin OS.
I would say ESET is more thorough than ClamAV only due to that ClamAV must follow filepaths to perform a scan.
According to their support site, it is supported:
You can find installation instructions here:
Aha, seems I mistook the enterprise version for a discontinued personal version. Too expensive for one compie, thanks anyway.
I stand corrected.
I recall when ESET dropped support in 2022, but I did not know that the Paid Endpoint remains active.
ESET dropped support for the Linux desktop, IE, most of us are screwed. (There's no marketshare in Linux, same old story why companies won't do Linux) ESET is only available for Linux server environments now. Unless your a code wizard, good luck installing it and running it in Linux.
The vast majority of users like me are left behind as usual, cause we don't matter to companies who want to make a profit. I had ESET when I was on Windows last, never had it since switching to Linux.
