After the Windows 10 update on August 13, 2024, I've been busy for days getting everything working again. My external hard drive is no longer mounted by Zorin 17.1. If I click on it, an error message appears. I save all important data on this hard drive. Annoying!!
I backed up the most important data to an older hard drive with Win7, so I can access the data, but I have a laptop with Zorin OS 17 that shows the same error. Click error message not mounted????

I think I had this same issue sometimes and fixed it by simply opening the files manager, right-clicking the external device on the left panel and clicking Mount. I think it was with my phone and for some reason it wasn't mounting automatically.
Es war durch das Microsoft update verursacht, sie hatten auf alle Laufwerke eine Parition erzeugt mit 16MB. als ich diese löschte war die Festplatte wieder erkennbar. Mein Sohn nutzt Win10, habe daraus einen getrennten PC gemacht und in 3 Tagen alle Veränderungen im Bios behoben, so das Zorin Os wieder normal startet. ganz sauber ist das Systhem noch nicht aber funktioniert. Werde wohl das Bioś neu einspielen, doch scheu noch das Risiko.
