Failed: Network Error (but everything else download fine!)

Hello All,

I am getting severely peed off to the point I will abandon Zorin OS Pro and stick with Win10, which saddens me.

I set up Dual Boot (2x M.2 SSD) and Dual OS, and it worked perfectly.

I installed Win10 LTSC IoT first - works pefrectly.
Then I installed ZorinOS 17.2 Pro on second SSD, it detects Windows and when I start PC GRUB menu appears to select Zorin or Win, perfect.

(I only went back to Windows as some video/processing apps weren't available for Linux, so the plan was to use Zorin for main PC and Windows for video stuff).

Then for some unknown reason my Dell 34" monitor kept going to sleep - not detecting input, this seems to happen only when I set in UEFI BIOS RAM XMP and set ReSize Bar (Graphics card) to Enabled.

To get it working and see screen I must move DP cable from graphics card to MoBo onboard graphics.

If this wasn't a pain in hole enough, Zorin then started to act weird, could search for installed apps, so I Secure Erased SSD in UEFI BIOS and tried to reinstall, using the USB I had created only this weekend.

So I formatted the USB pen drive, installed Rufus, then clicked on the link in the email to download my Zorin Pro that I'd paid for few months ago.

Bearing in mind everything else downloads (in Windows) without issue, and speed tests show excellent speeds and low latency/jitter (I have FTTH), the ZorinOS download keeps stopping with this message: Failed - Network Error.

Well the error is not on my end, as has been proven, as the TV goes via internet connection and there was no interruption.

I tried a few times, even with VPN switched on to local server in Prague (CZ) but still the same.

I'd be grateful for any advice please. What might be the cause of this and are there alternative servers to use perhaps for the download?

Thanks for any help.

Andrew.

What for a Graphics Card do you have? Nvidia?

Because of the Download: Can You download the free Zorin Version from one of the Mirror Servers?

Hello, thanks for your reply.
I don't know if it's related or just coincidence, but both issues are solved now.

I was able to download ZorinOS Pro this morning using the link they emailed me at time of purchase.

The problem whereby start/reboot causes monitor to go to sleep and I had to move DisplayPort cable from Graphics card (Asus Strix-GTX 1050-Ti) to the onboard mobo graphics DP port for the monitor to wake again seems to be fixed by disabling XMP Memory.

This is really strange as I had XMP enabled for last 6 years and suddenly it cause issues since I dual boot.

I also disabled the ReSize Bar option too.

Anyway, it seems to work OK now since disabling those options I mentioned.

I was curious what video processing apps you can't find in Linux? I use KDEnlive to edit my screencasts captured with vokoscreenNG (all APT installs, not flatpak or snap and on X11/xorg not Wayland), and once rendered, upload to my vimeo account. (I should point out that my daily driver is not currently Zorin, but I have used these apps in Zorin in the past.)

What for an Nvidia Driver do You use?
