Hello! I'm new here because I usually have no problem with Zorin, but about 2 weeks ago, this pops up every time I start/restart the laptop and it doesn't come out for anything! I have tried the following > methods
sudo fwupdmgr
sudo fwupdmgr
sudo fwupdmgr
sudo rm /var/lib/fwupd/pending.db . i also uninstalled and installed zorin again, but the problem persists!
I use a Lenovo Ideapad 320 laptop, Bios has the latest update installed! As a non-professionally knowledgeable user of programming, I don't know what it can be or what I can do.
Hi, welcome to Zorin OS!
This is a known issue due to a recent update. Please take a look at this post:
Hi and welcome.
Just to add Microsoft has only recently released an update Tuesday fix for Windows users and in an article I read elsewhere, the update included deletion of 14 hash keys so wonder if this is another reason why updates are failing. Further there was another CVE security flaw found with Secure Boot that affects Linux users more than Windows users, and AFAIK no fix has yet been released. I would also advise you check with your computer/motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates - one member was able to resolve this issue with a BIOS update, but this won't apply to all instances. But a timely reminder with the multitude of threats we face, keeping a regular checkup on BIOS updates is worth pursuing in any event.
