Hi Zorin Team and fellow community members,
I’ve been using Zorin OS for a while now, and I’m consistently impressed by how polished and user-friendly the experience is. However, there is one small quality-of-life improvement I believe would make a huge difference for productivity: A native sorting option for the "Show Apps" menu.
Currently, when new applications are installed, they are often appended to the end of the grid or placed in the next available slot. If a user wants to organize their apps alphabetically or by category, they have to manually click and drag icons across multiple pages. For users with a large library of software, this becomes quite time-consuming.
I suggest adding a simple right-click context menu (or a settings toggle) within the App Grid that allows for:
- Alphabetical Sorting (A-Z / Z-A): Instantly snap all icons into order.
- Sort by Category: Grouping tools, games, and office apps automatically.
- Reset to Default: A way to clear manual layouts.
I’d love to hear if others in the community feel the same way or if the devs have already considered implementing a native "Sort" function in a future Zorin 18.x update!
Keep up the amazing work!
