Hello Zorin OS Team and Community,
I would like to suggest a small but incredibly impactful quality-of-life feature for the Zorin OS Sound Settings.
Many users (especially gamers using applications like TeamSpeak or Discord) experience severe audio drops and terrible sound quality because Bluetooth headsets automatically force the system into the low-quality Handsfree Profile (HFP/HSP) as soon as a microphone is requested. Even if you select a different, dedicated microphone in your app, the system aggressively auto-switches the Bluetooth device.
I spent a whole month troubleshooting this frustrating issue with my Sony WH-CH520 and Philips TAH4209 headset until I finally fixed it permanently via the terminal by adding Disable=Handsfree to /etc/bluetooth/main.conf.
Zorin OS doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to fix this for millions of users. It would be amazing if you could implement a simple toggle switch in the Zorin Sound Settings GUI (e.g., "Disable Bluetooth Handsfree Mic" or "Force A2DP High Fidelity Audio Only"). In the background, this switch could simply modify the BlueZ main.conf or the WirePlumber configuration.
This would make Zorin OS significantly more user-friendly for gamers and anyone using Bluetooth headphones on a PC. Thank you for your amazing work on this OS!
Best regards,
Nusret
